In my opinion having a jail is a very good way of punishing players who have broke the rules, but not sever enough to do any other further punishment. For example, when I muted a player today he kept changing his title to "Please unmute me Kid." This became fairly annoying, but there wasn't any further punishment I could inflict on him other than kicking him, which did not seem to bother him. In a case like that I would have loved to have been able to jail this player.
